Unforgettable

My name is Audrey Xu. I’m 16 years old and I go to Havergal College in Toronto, Canada. In March 2016, a last-minute trip to Tanzania came up after our partner boys’ school, Crescent School, needed a couple more students to join them. Now, I knew at the beginning of the year that I wanted to go on an excursion so when I heard the announcement, I was excited to hear more about it. It was definitely out of my comfort zone, especially going with people that I didn’t know too well, so I was very hesitant. Ms. Belore, the Manager of the Institute at Havergal, definitely sold me on going, and it was the best decision I have ever made. This excursion to Tanzania was honestly the most influential trip of my life. The Olive Branch for Children was the organization that we worked with, and they could not have been more welcoming and loving. From the cheery, fun welcoming hugs to the teary-eyed goodbyes, the connections and bonds that were made are forever. I truly consider them to be family. It’s hard to express these kinds of things through text, so I hope that this video will help a little more.
