Last week we reached a huge milestone when we welcomed our 5 millionth user. We couldn’t think of a better way to say thank you to all 5 million of you than to give you exactly what you’ve been asking for!
You asked. We listened. Today we are excited to bring you improved editing modes and a few updates to the WeVideo platform based off of the great suggestions and feedback you have been sending us. Watch the video above, featuring Diana, who you may be familiar with from the WeVideo Academy, and Welly from our Customer Success team, then read on for more info about all of the changes to the WeVideo tool.
Theme and music libraries are now close by. Look for them at the left of the Storyboard. This should make it simple for you to change the overall look and feel of your final video.
Transitions in Storyboard! Add your favorite transition and easily add it once or add to all clips with just one click. Adding effects is equally as simple and you can see a sample of what the effects will look like before committing.
Look for the scissor icon when hovering on a clip to easily split it into two. Splitting is great for cutting a larger clip into smaller, more-manageable pieces for fine-tuning.
We’ve simplified the Timeline editor. You might notice that the two options (Timeline Simple and Timeline Advanced) are now combined into one easy-to-use but powerful Timeline editor.
Adding and deleting tracks becomes more intuitive. Hovering over the tracks displays a red trash can for deleting and a plus button is you one click way to add a new track.
Diana’s favorite feature in this release is the ability to expand a clip to see separate video and audio components. Audio waveforms in video tracks allows you to visually adjust the audio levels of your video clips. This will come in handy when you want to make cuts and adjustments to videos based on your clip’s audio.
You told us things were getting a bit cramped so we moved some of the menus around to give you more room. We’ve moved the most common actions into one menu. This slim-lined interface will give users with smaller screens for more space to work.
One of our most requested features deals with voiceover. Before, when you recorded your voiceover you couldn’t see where you were in the video. Now you can record narration while viewing your preview to perfect timing.
Uploading your files couldn’t get much simpler. We’ve made it so you can drag and drop your files and watch the progress bar zoom across the screen as WeVideo advances through your pictures and videos. As always, your files live in the cloud so you can access them from any computer. Have to stop half way through an upload? No problem, things will pick up where you left them when you come back.
When selecting multiple images from your media library to drop into your video, you will see more options for setting length, animation (Ken Burns) and fill. We think you will enjoy the choice to set timing by seconds or frames, with a minimum duration of 10 frames. This should make creating cool stop motion videos a breeze!
We can’t wait for you to try out all the new features. Start creating your video now then come back here and let us know what you think in the comments below. Thank you, again, for being one of 5 million (plus) people who inspire us to make a product we love.[hs_action id=”8783, 8782″]
