There is a reason WeVideo has “we” in its name. We are passionate believers in the power of collaboration, especially in its capacity to encourage creativity, critical thinking, cooperation and teamwork in the classroom.

So it goes without saying that we were elated when WeVideo for Schools received the 2017 EdTech Digest Cool Tool Award for the category of Best Collaborative Solution and was a Finalist for the EdTech Trendsetter Award. Through this award program, EdTech Digest recognizes products and people in and around education for outstanding contributions in transforming education through technology to enrich the lives of learners everywhere.

Here’s what EdTech Digest Editor-in-Chief Victor Rivero had to say, “WeVideo inspires students to create and share great stories. This tool engages students in all facets of learning, and helps instill deep knowledge about topics by cultivating skills like collaboration, communication and critical thinking,” says Rivero. “It encourages student creativity, storytelling, engagement and multi-modal learning—it delivers.”

Of course, WeVideo was designed to facilitate project-based collaborative learning, making it easy for students and teachers to work together in an easily managed environment that also reflects individual contributions. From sharing media, to peer review, to an editing environment that ensures that each student can create independently and then easily combine their work with that of their peers, every aspect of WeVideo for Schools is built with collaboration in mind.
